Well, since nobody actually discouraged me and I'm feeling particularly insane at the moment... Siana's Insane Challenge to Herself! Basically, my situation is this: For WriDaNoJu this year I decided I was going to work on that story. We probably all have one - the story we prodded away at for years before we discovered the fun and insanity that is a WriMo. For the first 7 days I really sucked. Then I had an epiphany, rewrote my outline and started the story again. On day 8 I wrote 7.7k, on day 9 I wrote 8.4k and... well, it's been going really well. Well enough, in fact, that I did the maths to find out what I'd have to do to get to 50k at my current rate. The answer? I could finish by the 15th. So I wondered: can I really do this? Then I decided that there's really only one way to find out, so here is my challenge to myself. The goal: Write 50k between the 8th and the 15th of June. This is a required daily average of 6,250 words. My progress:Day 1: 7,738 / 6,250 = 07,738 / 06,250 Day 2: 8,462 / 6,250 = 16,200 / 12,500 Day 3: 2,830 / 6,250 = 19,030 / 18,750 Day 4: 3,973 / 6,250 = 23,003 / 25,000 Day 5: / 6,250 = / 31,250 Day 6: / 6,250 = / 37,500 Day 7: / 6,250 = / 43,750 Day 8: / 6,250 = / 50,000

Day 6: / 6,250 = / 37,500 Day 7: / 6,250 = / 43,750 Day 8: / 6,250 = / 50,000

So the required WC for each of the next three days is now 7.2k...

Up to 7.8k required per day now. I'll go close, but at this point it looks like I won't make it...

Day 8: / 6,250 = / 50,000

So, an 8.5k final day. Worryingly possible. It's going to really hurt if I get close and miss now...

When I get over the fingers feeling like spaghetti and the brain feeling wrung out like a wet dishcloth I'm going to be really, really happy...

Sleep... No, the reason why I was able to do that was because I'm having trouble sleeping at the moment.
And I'm probably another 50k away from the ending, so no editing allowed.
*eats a brownie*
Mm, these brownies are great!

I love virtual brownies! Virtually no weight gain! Though the WORD brownie makes me hungry! Time to eat brunch!

I'm a fan of actual brownies myself, though virtual brownies, nefariously made by a character intent on jealous revenge, might make for a good story.
