Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On this day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour. The commemoration was first held in 2001, two weeks after Adams's death on 11 May 2001.
This year I am proudly bringing Towel Day to the wrimo community. I challenge everyone to celebrate it in one (or more) of the following ways:
1: write 1,952 words to celebrate the year Douglas Adams was born 2: carry a towel with you as you go about your daily life 3: include a towel in your MayNo (or other) story 4: baffle or delight the people around you with Douglas Adams quotes and references! 5: listen to an album by Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Paul Simon, Dire Straits, Johann Sebastian Bach or The Beatles
6: come up with your own suggestion and add it to this list

... and now it's Towel Day!
Other suggestions for today:
7: incorporate the number 42 into your writing or your daily life 8: reassure people by telling them not to panic 9: re-read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the Dirk Gently novels 10: Post Towel Day messages on Facebook and Twitter!
