Because we're YeRo'ers (and there must be a better title for us than that) it's our job to descend on each month's forum and by sheer force of personalities convince everyone that (xx)NoWriMo is going ahead in 2011... MayAccording to my occasionally followed 2011 Year of writing a ---- lot schedule, it's time for me to start planning for May. So... Since there's occasional activity on the forum at maynowrimo.webs.com/apps/forums/ I figured what they need is a bunch of friendly folks to descend on the place, waving plastic weapons, thunderbolts, winds of force 10 and above... Basically, a forum assault. Anyone want to come and play?

Yeah, webs...
I don't know exactly when to start. Sooner is better, though - we have to convince the people running it that there actually are going to be people. I'm going to swing by every day or so if I remember.

I hardly visit Script Frenzy. What's the point in refering to multiple forums? Am I monogamiac? Why don't just assault each other? That is monitor and push each other more vigorously on our stated objectives. What's yours Siana? Marsbareater...14?

I couldn't possibly remain faithful to just one forum... Although MayNo isn't looking all that active at the moment

I think someone should make a new MayNoWriMo site like what happened to FebNo, and MarNo, there should definitely be a new MayNo site that someone could create!
I agree with Siana that the site looks dead and not in activated in a long time, so if anyone can create a new one that would be great please!

I wnt to give the current one a chance first. It looks like it was used a bit last year, so maybe I'm just jumping in a little earlier than anyone else?
If it doesn't work out, though, what would the admins think of setting up a MayNo section on this site? Or maybe a month-long challenge on Writing Challenges? That might be easier than setting up and maintaining a whole new forum (??).

We will remain faithful to one forum if we find the right forum. And what better way than creating ourselves the right forum? I believe the trick is to monitor and encourage each other's progress something that can be more easily done in a group of our size. Anyway this is what I feel works better for me. I will attempt to initiate something like that in Marie's thread.

...So we're creating another MayNo thing? It would certainly be a whole lot more accessible by the writing community if it was on another site-after all, it doesn't have the expectations that other ones do (for example-this one you do a WriMo every month, Writing Challenges simply isn't set up for that kind of thing...)
But it looks ot be good (apart from the fact it's on Webs-ick!) Really, I think we should wait until two or three days before it begins, and if it hasn't picked up some activity then, that's when we'll start worrying!

But I want to start the assault now!
Seriously, I think everyone is probably going to wait for someone else to start. So, how about a little light activity just to start the ball rolling? A casual wave of a rubber chicken, perhaps?

I signed up for a account, but it says it's waiting to be confirmed or something like that? Off to check my email now...

I'll definitely be setting up one here. That was my original intent, to set things up in a way that allowed rolling wrimos to be supported easily. If nothing else, we could try to get others to come here if they are interested. I'm not ready to start thinking about it yet for myself (might be an edmo for me, depending on what happens over the next couple weeks), but I'm happy to have the playground set up and the for the gauntlet throwing to begin.

Okey dokey, it's out there. When we get underway I'll move it up to the top, move the ApNo board to the bottom, and add 'archive' to the title, to make the site easier to use. Another easy of use thing might be to figure out how to make the latest posts show at the top of the list, not the bottom, on page 4, etc. Siana, I think your idea of having it out there early, so that if folks who are thinking about doing an wrimo and are looking for a place to do it can find it. At the very least I'll be putting my edmo out there, and following along on the progress of the tribe. And if we end up elsewhere and this is just a bookmark for us, that's okay too. Write on! -Flatiron

Hmm. I have no idea what's happening with the accounts over there-I got no email, no nothing. And it was siad to be "pending approval", I remember that now. But we have a section set up here so... -parties-
